Hogs pitcher Connor Noland is now solidly in the running for this year’s Golden Spikes Award.

Noland has been put on the award’s watch list, which was unveiled by USA Baseball on Tuesday. The list consists of 45 of the nation’s top amateur players ranging from high schoolers up to college athletes, 26 of the athletes  have played their way onto the watch list since the list that was announced in preseason on February 15.

Noland has established himself as the Razorbacks’ ace, with a 4-1 record with a team-leading 3.05 ERA over 41.1 innings pitched. The long-term Razorback right-handed pitcher has four good starts on the year, striking out 53 batters with only nine walks.
